A Meeting to Remember: The First Artikulatorz Meeting

The first Artikulatorz meeting was this past Monday and it was a great time for those in attendance. We met new and old friends with a passion for designing great eLearning, discussed how certain elements of Storyline can be used to mimic game elements and we had Mr. eLearning himself, David Anderson join us via webchat to give us our official send off. Let's get into the juicy details, shall we?

Why was this meeting special?

This meeting was special because... wait for it... it literally was the first and last meeting of 2018! (drum roll). On a less dorky note, we had an awesome blend of consummate professionals in the room. Dr. Glenda Gunter and our gracious host Dr. Richard Hartshorne, experts with over 30+ years of Instructional Design and eLearning expertise were there. We also had several student and professional developers ranging in a wide set of multimedia eLearning skills and diverse industries.

Mr. eLearning

As part of our meetings, I secretly invited David Anderson, Director of Training at Articulate, all around eLearning design guru and also a LinkedIn Author of the best Storyline learning available to join us via webchat. Besides all that, I call David a friend, and he had some great advice regarding our user group and the "road ahead". It was great to have him and the Artikulatorz in attendance were thrilled to chat with him.

Tips n' Tricks

During our Tips n' Tricks, I shared a small Storyline game interaction called Space Slider which uses a slider control with all formatting properties at no fill and replaces the slider thumb with an image. You can get the free source file below.
